Christmas
A virtual advent calendar for couples, without the chocolate
The ritual is the door, not the object
Paper advent calendars are fun because tomorrow is shut. A virtual advent calendar can keep that rule. On MakeCountdown a locked day shows its date and hides the note and the photo. When the date arrives in the recipient’s timezone, that door opens and stays open.
Twenty-four prompts that are not “treat yourself”
Use days you both remember: the first cold morning, a recipe, a street, a person you miss, a joke about a decoration you refuse to throw out. Write the song as words if you want a soundtrack; this version does not upload audio. Leave a door blank only if you would rather shorten the calendar.
You do not have to end on December 24. A couple spending Christmas apart might end on the day they are next in the same room. Set that as the target date and let the earlier doors lead there.
After Christmas
Nothing expires on the 26th. The link still opens every door. Delete it from your dashboard when you do not want it kept. A refund turns the link off as well.
